Our Mission
The mission of The Excel Center is to provide adults the opportunity and support to earn a high school diploma and post-secondary education while developing career paths that offer greater employment and growth opportunities. Our school will serve at-risk students who have experienced challenges in traditional academic settings, by finding ways to “meet students where they are” in their education. This is done by providing a flexible structure and supportive relationships, to help students manage work, life, and family concerns, as they achieve their educational goals.
Our Vision
The vision of The Excel Center is to build a community where people are empowered to improve their life and family through the achievement of academic and career goals.
The Excel Center History
In an effort to boost education attainment levels in Indiana, in 2010 Goodwill Industries of Central Indiana created The Excel Center. Excel Centers are diploma-granting public charter high schools designed to fit the life circumstances of adults.
The model has expanded and is now being implemented by Goodwills in Austin, TX, Memphis, TN, South Bend, IN, and Phoenix, AZ.
